LSM Gathering Q&A

Who can attend?

Any student who identifies with the Lutheran tradition is part of the Lutheran Student Movement and therefore is invited to attend this gathering!

When and where is the gathering taking place?

The gathering will take place Dec. 30, 2015- Jan. 2, 2016 at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.  Check-in for the gathering will take place from noon to 3:00 pm on Dec. 30th so please plan to arrive in that window.  Closing worship for the gathering will take place the morning of Jan. 2nd.

What is the gathering theme?

This year’s gathering theme is ‘Envisioning a New Creation.’  A new creation can be thought of on many levels from the world to the Church to campuses to the new life of the Lutheran Student Movement.  We will have some awesome guest speakers to guide us in these conversations.  In the meantime, check out this video as Lutheran Campus Ministry students share their thoughts on the Windy City and what a new creation might look like.

What will we be doing at the gathering?

There is lots of fun and thought-provoking conversation planned for the gathering.  Highlights will include discussions on justice led by Dr. Ray Pickett, time to explore Chicago, workshops/working groups, service projects, worship, and a rockin’ New Year’s Eve Party!  Plus, there will be plenty of time to mingle and hang out with other people at the gathering!  Click on the link to view the National Lutheran Student Gathering Schedule.

How can I register?
